Nestled in the corner of Mpumalanga lies a region filled with untamed beauty, a community that inspires and a must-see golf course waiting to be explored…
Thanks to businessman Harry van Dyk, I have been able to visit a true golfing gem and assist in sharing a message of hope and upliftment.
Kambaku Golf Club, situated in Komatipoort boasts a gem of a golf course. Named after one of Africa’s Magnificent Seven Elephants, Kambaku lies adjacent to the famed Kruger National Park’s Crocodile River. This now 10-hole layout, with its unbelievable closing two holes along the big five’s water source, must be on your bucket-list!
I have been able to witness firsthand the impact the game is making, and thanks to great community involvement, Kambaku Golf Club is uplifting the lives of local people in the area. The Club with its development program is making golf accessible by providing practise and playing opportunities to youngsters, who aspire to not only be the next great golfer, but more importantly to make their mark in the world.
As with building the course, the community puts hands together, and guides golfers through the involvement of the South African Golf Development Board.
